ABIDE IN THE TRUTH ABOUT JESUS
1 John 2:21–24

I. THE TRUTH WE MUST ACKNOWLEDGE “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ?” — 1 John 2:22

A. THE TRUTH IS REVEALED “I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it…” — v. 21
B. THE TRUTH IS ROOTED IN CHRIST “…denieth that Jesus is the Christ…” — v. 22
C. THE TRUTH CANNOT BE MIXED WITH A LIE “…no lie is of the truth.” — v. 21

II. THE TRUTH WE MUST ACKNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE SON “Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father…” — 1 John 2:23

A. DENYING CHRIST IS A SERIOUS MATTER “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ?” — v. 22
B. ACKNOWLEDGING CHRIST IS ESSENTIAL “He that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.” — v. 23
C. CHRIST MUST NEVER BE REDUCED

III. THE TRUTH WE MUST ABIDE IN “Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning.” — 1 John 2:24
