Missions

Lowerytown Missionary Baptist Church (LMBC) believes that mission work begins at home but also extends to the U.S. and the world. As believers, we are called to actively spread God’s words and love to make a difference. We support local, national and international mission. Annie Armstrong is supported through Easter Missions while Lottie Moon is supported through Christmas Missions.

As God has instructed in Mark 16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

Lottie Moon

Starting in 1888, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® was established to empower the international missions efforts for Southern Baptists. After more than a century, the annual offering continues its steady growth. The National Goal this year is $185 Million. Your giving enables missionaries to be sent to make disciples and multiply churches among unreached peoples and places for the glory of God.

Annie Armstrong

Every year we honor the life and work of Annie Walker Armstrong (1850-1938) when we give to the annual Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American missions. As a tireless servant of God and a contagious advocate and supporter of missions efforts throughout the world, Annie rallied churches to give more, pray more and do more for reaching people for Christ.

The Myers-Mallory State Missions Offeringis the offering that replaced Alabama WMU’s traditional Kathleen Mallory Mission Offering (KMMO). Myers-Mallory supports the work of Alabama WMU, as well as Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief, Church Planting, Church Revitalization and Global Partnership Missions. Just like with KMMO, gifts can be given all year, with a special emphasis for giving in September.

Since 1993, God has used Samaritan’s
Purse to deliver over 200 million Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts to children in need and disciple 50 million of these boys and girls.  In the past 14 years alone since The Greatest Journey was launched, over 17 million children have made decisions for Christ.  When Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, agreed to fill shoeboxes with toys and other items for children in war-torn Bosnia in 1993, he had no idea what the project would grow to become.  For more information:
