The Power of the Holy Spirit
Acts 19:1-10

I. The Holy Spirit’s Power Received – Acts 19:1-7 –
A. Disciples Met – Paul met disciples (of John) in Ephesus who had not received the Holy
Spirit – V1-2
B. Disciples Wet – They had only received John's baptism – Rom. 8:9
C. Disciples Set – Paul baptized them in the name of Jesus and they received the Holy
Spirit

II. The Holy Spirit Power Demonstrated – Acts 19:8-10 –
A. The Holy Spirit Enabled Paul -After this, Paul went to the synagogue and preached
boldly for three months –
B. The Holy Spirit Empowered Paul to perform miracles and signs –
C. The Holy Spirit Effectiveness – Many people believed and were baptized

III. Our Need for the Holy Spirit –
A. The Holy Spirit empowers us to share the truth of Jesus with boldness and clarity
B. Just like the disciples in Ephesus, we cannot fulfill our calling without the Holy Spirit
C. We must make sure we have received and are continually filled with the Holy Spirit
D. The Holy Spirit Glorifies God –
E. We must examine our own faith and ask ourselves if we are relying on religious
tradition or truly have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
